~ Tracy, Rooted & Free Retreat, Guatemala

I’ve spent nearly a decade teaching yoga, meditation, and breathwork which has taken me around the world, from the rainforests of Costa Rica to the coastlines of Dominica, the rivers of Vietnam, and the lakes of Northern Ontario.
Through it all, I’ve learned that the most transformative experiences happen when we slow down, open up, and step into the unknown.
I bring a trauma-informed, playful, and curious approach to retreats, creating space for both adventure and deep reflection. I specialized in guiding reflective journal writing workshops and help you reconnect with yourself and find mental clarity. Whether we’re hiking sacred trails, exploring local culture, or moving through yoga and meditation, my goal is to help you reconnect with yourself and step into what’s possible.
My journeys through Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, and Southeast Asia shape the way I guide retreats, blending the depths of yoga, the power of nature, and experiences that gently push the edges of what’s possible.
If you are ready to slow down, step off-the-beaten-path, lean into curiosity and self-discovery while experience life across the world. You’re in the right place. Thank you for being here!
Frequently asked questions
Is it weird if I sign up on my own? I want to come but I have anyone to go with.
Not at all. All of the people registered for this retreat have signed up alone and are travelling solo. It can be so empowering to do something just for YOU. It’s not only welcomed, it’s celebrated! You’ll find that our community is very welcoming and supportive. You might even leave with lifelong friendship - I see this happen all the time with my retreats!
We also have a retreat group chat, so you can start getting to know others and even coordinate travel plans if you wish.
If you prefer shared accommodations is a great way to connect with another solo traveller - think sipping tea on the balcony and sharing your experience from the day together. (shared rooms are reserved for women only).
How many people are attending?
I love to create intimate experiences and you can expect to be a group of up 10 to 12 people at this retreat.
I’m new to yoga, can I still join?
Absolutely! I teach all-level classes on retreats. You’ll have the chance to join our energizing sunrise classes and our sunset relaxing sessions. You can expect almost two yoga classes a day.

No, this retreat is open to all genders. Many of our retreat guests have been women, but this experience is for anyone who feels called to reconnect with themselves, explore personal growth, and enjoy yoga, nature, and community.

What should I pack?
Things like yoga mats and props are provided by the retreat centre. You will get a packing list before the retreat starts but typically you want to pack a journal, activewear, swimsuit, reusable water bottle, hiking shoes, sunscreen, bug repellent, rain jacket, etc. There’s no need for fancy dinner attire - this is a laidback environment.
I’m craving this, but I feel guilty spending money/time on myself. Can I do this?
This is such a common feeling - and I get it. But sometimes the most generous thing we can do for the people around us is to return to ourselves first. You deserve to feel inspired, connected, rested, and fully alive. That’s what this retreat is all about.

No, flights are not included. You’ll be responsible for booking your round-trip flights to SJO Airport in San Jose Costa Rica or you can hire our travel agent to reserve your flight for you.

Questions you should be asking...
What’s the age range of people who usually come on your retreats?
Most guest fall somewhere between 30–60, with a beautiful mix of life stages. Some are in transition, some are established, some are reinventing themselves. Age matters way less than curiosity, openness, and a willingness to show up as you are.
Can I join on my own?
Most people join my retreats alone do. And within about 24 hours, you won’t feel like you are. Community forms naturally here, through shared meals, movement, quiet moments, and laughter. The Rebel Soul Community is known to be hella supportive and welcoming.
Is alcohol part of the retreat?
Nope. This is an alcohol-free retreat.
The intention is clarity, presence, and actually feeling what’s happening inside and around you.
Think tea, nourishing food, deep sleep, and waking up clear-headed, not wine-o’clock energy.
I hate yoga. Can I still come?
Honestly? This is a tuff one because I’ll never say you can’t join my yoga retreat. This is not a bootcamp, not a handstand retreat, and not about “being good at yoga.” The practices are slow, accessible, optional, and designed to support your nervous system, not impress anyone. Many people come to retreats without any yoga experience and end up really enjoying it. But if your intentions is to join a yoga retreat and skip out on all the yoga, my question to you if, is this the right experience for you ?
Is this more of a women’s retreat?
It’s open to all genders, but it does tend to attract people who value depth, reflection, and intentional travel. The vibe is grounded, soulful, and respectful, it’s not performative or trendy.
How full are the days? Will I get downtime?
There is intentional spaciousness built in.
You won’t be rushed from activity to activity. Rest, integration, and free time are part of the experience; because that’s where a lot of the magic happens. If you are looking for a jammed packed schedule that has you rushing to all the must-see attraction you might be disapointed.
Is this more “vacation” or more “inner work”?
I don’t see retreats as vacations. We blend outer explorations with inner work - weaving adventure with mindfulness, meditation with culture, and space for reflection and personal insight. This isn’t a surface level touristy experience, it’s about depth & presence.
Who is this retreat not for?
If you’re looking for high-end luxury, party vibes, constant stimulation, need to rush to see all the major sights, or a retreat where someone tells you who to be, honeslty, this probably isn’t your place.
If you’re drawn to depth over display, presence over productivity, and meaningful experiences over highlights reels, you’ll feel at home.
Plan your travel and transportation details
You will fly into San José International Airport (SJO) in Costa Rica.
_
Transportation on November 30th will be at a hotel close to the SJO airport at 10am - it is your responsibility to be at the pick-up location on time.
You’ll be dropped off at the designated hotel on December 5th between 3 to 5pm, it is your responsibility to schedule flights after this time.
_
To ensure a smooth and easeful arrival, we recommend staying at a comfortable hotel near the airport on the night of your arrival. This allows you to rest after your travels and settle in before the journey to the retreat begins.
Group transportation to Rancho Margot will be arranged from a selected hotel near the airport the following morning. You can also expect to stay overnight near the airport again at the end of the retreat before your departure.
Most flights from Canada arrive into Costa Rica in the evenings and depart early mornings, it’s typic to expect to overnight near SJO.

"Attending Rebel Soul’s Retreat was truly life-changing. The community that Sylvie has cultivated is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced —welcoming, inspiring, and deeply connected. Every session left me feeling stronger, more present, and more in tune with myself.”
