TERMS AND CONDITIONS: Yoga Retreat Contract with Sylvie Lamothe at Rebel Soul
This document outlines the terms and conditions for the yoga retreat hosted by Sylvie Lamothe of Rebel Soul in Guatemala. By registering for this retreat, you agree to the following:
Yoga Retreat Attendance
To attend the Yoga Retreat, you must:
Agree to pay the Yoga Retreat purchase price per person specified below
Accept all other Terms and Conditions in this contract
Complete and submit the online registration form for the yoga retreat
Submit a deposit in the amount specified on our website when you register
What’s Included
Accommodation for 7 nights at Villa Sumaya based on shared or single accommodation
All guided experiences outlined on the website included yoga, self-development workshops, Sunrise Hike, San Juan Tour, and two Mayan ceremonies
Transportation from the designated hotel in Guatemala City to Villa Sumaya on November 29, 2025, departing at 11 am and from Villa Sumaya to the designated hotel in Guatemala City departing from Villa Sumaya at 11 am on December 6th, 2025
Donation to the Mayan Mother Program through Villa Sumaya
3 vegetarian meals starting with dinner on November 29th, 2025 at the retreat centre and breakfast at the retreat centre on December 6th, 2025
What’s Not Included
Airfare to and from Guatemala
Personal Medical, Travel & Trip Cancellation Insurance
Any personal items including alcohol, additional chicken or fish with meals, any purchases at the boutique cafe, souvenirs, spa service or extra tours, etc
Gratuities for Villa Sumaya staff, hiking guides, tours, and lodge staff
Any lodging or meals on the way to and from the retreat centre
Additional tours, spa services, or ceremonies
Any transportation outside of what is mentioned above as included (due to missed flights or unreasonable delays in being at the pick-up location)
Any change fees incurred if you request to make changes to your original retreat booking or payment schedule
Pricing and Payment Schedule
The price listed for this retreat is per person with the choice of a single room or a shared room.
Shared room US$2,685 +hst for a total price of US$3,034.05 (includes HST)
Single room US$3,535 +hst for a total price of US$3,994.55 (includes HST)
*Save US$300 off these prices when you register before or on March 27, 2025
The payment schedule and payment amounts are as follows:
Deposit due at time of registration US $600 (+hst)
Final payment balance due on September 5, 2025
Your registration for this retreat is confirmed once your deposit is received. If we are unable to reach you at the time payments are due and you have not made your payments within a reasonable time (not to exceed two weeks), we reserve the right to forfeit your spot on the Yoga Retreat without refunding your deposit.
Early Bird Rules
Early bird pricing is only available to those who sign up and pay the deposit before the early bird deadline of March 28, 2025
Early bird discounts cannot be transferred to any other individual under any circumstances.
Travel and Medical Insurance
Neither Sylvie Lamothe nor Rebel Soul offers trip or out-of-province medical insurance nor is it included in any of the yoga retreat purchases. It is highly recommended that each retreat guest research their options and select a plan that works for them. Please read the following carefully:
Out-of-province medical insurance is required for this retreat and you will be asked to provide proof of coverage at least a month before the start of the retreat.
It is strongly recommended that you purchase Trip Cancellation insurance for this retreat for your protection. You need to verify coverage with your insurance company because the deadline for adding trip cancellation will depend on the travel insurance company.
In light of the COVID-19 global pandemic, you are strongly encouraged to purchase a premium policy. Group travel bookings are not protected so it is the individual’s responsibility to protect their investment.
Each Yoga Retreat guest is 100% responsible for any loss, penalties, fees, or other financial consequences arising out of booking a trip or the cancellation of a trip and all health coverage abroad. Sylvie Lamothe and Rebel Soul cannot offer refunds for travel or medical issues that arise before or during a Yoga Retreat.
If you cancel due to unforeseen illness or personal emergency before the Yoga Retreat (including COVID-19, pregnancy, surgery or injury whether personal or of a family member), miss part of the Yoga Retreat due to travel delays, lost luggage or have delayed luggage, or require medical care abroad, your personal travel insurance policy can usually cover this.
You will be 100% responsible for any loss, penalties, fees, or other financial consequences relating to trip or travel cancellation or interruption, theft or loss of belongings, and all health coverage abroad. We do not offer refunds for trips, travel or medical issues that arise before or during a Yoga Retreat.
Refund Policy for Deposits
Sylvie Lamothe of Rebel Soul cannot refund any deposits made for the yoga retreat under any circumstances. It is highly recommended that you purchase insurance to protect your investment.
Cancellation Policy
When registering for the yoga retreat you are assuming all risk and responsibilities associated with adhering to this refund policy. Any cancellation, regardless of the reason (due to health, work, personal or family circumstances) must be refunded through your personally selected travel insurance policy. No refunds are available through Sylvie Lamothe at Rebel Soul for cancellations of any reason.
It is highly recommended that you purchase Trip Cancellation or Cancel for Any Reason Insurance for this retreat as Sylvie Lamothe of Rebel Soul will not be responsible for refunding your deposit and balance payments once they are processed. As stated in the registration form the deposit paid for this retreat is non-refundable and non-transferable.
If you need to cancel your Yoga Retreat, you must notify Sylvie Lamothe via email. Once we have received the notice, cancellations will take effect subject to the following:
If your cancellation request takes place after the Final Balance Due Date, you will forfeit 100% of the Yoga Retreat price, and we will issue no refund.
No refunds will be given for failure to attend or complete the Yoga Retreat without written notice and adhering to this policy.
We reserve the right to recover from you any amount due after the deposit, which you have not paid to us by the Final Payment Due Date.
If you are in a double room and registered for the Yoga Retreat with a friend, your friend/roommate has the right to decline your request to fill your spot in the room with an unknown Yoga Retreat guest, in which case you will not be eligible for a refund.
There are no refunds or discounts given for arriving late or departing early or for guests who choose not to partake in meals, yoga classes, or excursions.
You may wish to find a replacement to take your spot for the yoga retreat if you can no longer attend. Please review the following information:
We highly recommend that you find your own replacement to take your spot because we cannot look for replacements until we have sold all of the spots for our Yoga Retreat. If you find someone to take your spot your replacement must complete and submit the online registration, pay in full for the Yoga Retreat, and accept all of the Terms and Conditions of this contract associated with the Yoga Retreat purchase. If and when payment for the new guest is processed, and waivers are signed, we will issue a refund of 100% of your original payment (including the otherwise non-refundable, non-transferable deposit). Note that a $45 fee may be applied to any changes to your booking.
If you prefer to have Sylvie Lamothe fill your spot through paid ads, newsletters, and her client list, Sylvie will put you on a refund waitlist in the order that we receive your request. After all remaining spots for the Yoga Retreat are reserved and prepaid and the Yoga Retreat is at full capacity as intended, any future additional incoming room sales will be directed to refund guests seeking cancellation and partial refund from the refund waitlist in the order of requests received. Once payment for the replacement guest is processed, and waivers are signed, we will issue a refund minus your original non-refundable, non-transferable deposit to your bank or credit card.
Passports, visas, immunizations, flights
It is your responsibility to obtain all required travel documents including but not limited to Passports, Driver's Licenses, Visas, and Immunization Records associated with any destination. For many countries, passports must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the duration of the trip. You are also responsible for booking flights to the yoga retreat destination. We are not responsible and will provide no refund if you are refused entry into the country because of incorrect travel documents that are your responsibility.
Theft and Personal Valuables
Rebel Soul and Sylvie Lamothe are not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage to personal valuables during the retreat. It is advised to keep your belongings secure at all times.
Retreat Package
The retreat is sold as a complete package. There are no discounts or refunds for participants who choose to attend only part of the retreat or for those wishing to bring a non-participating spouse or partner. You will always have the choice to not participate or leave the retreat at any time but discounted rates or refunds will not be offered if you choose this.
Cancellation, Postponement, or Changes of Yoga Retreat by Organizer
Sylvie Lamothe of Rebel Soul reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or make changes to the retreat if the minimum number of participants is not met or for any reason. In this case, your deposit will be refunded, but your travel expenses (e.g., airfare, hotels, insurance, transport) will be refunded by your required travel insurance.
Force majeure event
If a force majeure event (e.g. pandemic, natural disasters, travel restrictions, strikes, trade disputes, fire, breakdowns, government or political action, acts of war or terrorism, acts of omission of a third party or for any other reason whatsoever outside of our reasonable control) causes a Yoga Retreat to be cancelled, we will have no liability whatsoever to you and may, at our option, by written notice to you, either cancel or postpone the Yoga Retreat. In this case, we will not refund payments when they are due to causes beyond our control but may offer a rescheduled Yoga Retreat date in some instances. If the rescheduled Yoga Retreat date does not work for you, then you must seek reimbursement through your own travel insurance policy. For this reason, Travel Insurance to protect your Yoga Retreat investment is strongly encouraged.
We also reserve the right to make changes to any aspect of the Yoga Retreat if, in our absolute discretion, it is necessary to do so due to conditions that are likely to be hazardous or dangerous to the best interest of our Yoga Retreat group’s safety or due to any other adverse or threatening conditions whether political or military or terrorist or otherwise or if an act or omission of a third party prevents any aspect of the Yoga Retreat being undertaken in accordance with the booking or for any other reason that we consider necessary.
Substitute Teacher
Sylvie Lamothe reserves the right to find a substitute teacher in case of illness, family emergency, or other unforeseen circumstances involving the primary instructor to lead classes and workshops for the retreat.
Liability Waiver
By participating in this retreat, you acknowledge and accept the risks associated with yoga, workshops and any excursions or activities organized with third-party outfitters. You agree to hold harmless Rebel Soul, Sylvie Lamothe, and any associated retreat centers from any injury, illness, or loss sustained during the retreat.
Photo Release
By attending this retreat, you consent to having photos taken during the event. These photos may be used by Rebel Soul for promotional purposes, including but not limited to social media, websites, and future marketing materials. If you do not wish to be photographed, you are asked to inform the organizers in advance.
Disruptive Behavior
For the benefit of everyone, we reserve the right to accept or reject any guest at any time without liability, and in the event we determine, in our sole and exclusive discretion, that you are disruptive to the harmony of the Yoga Retreat, we may expel you from the Yoga Retreat, without any obligation to pay a refund or any other amount whatsoever. Moreover, we have no responsibility or liability to you if you leave the Yoga Retreat prior to its conclusion or for any activity that you undertake, which is not included on the Yoga Retreat itinerary.
By booking your spot, registering, and paying your deposit for the Guatemala Yoga Retreat you are agreeing to the terms and conditions above.
